To raise awareness about the importance of oral
health during pregnancy, United Concordia

has enhanced the TRICARE Dental Program (TDP) benefit,
allowing pregnant women to have three routine dental cleanings
in a consecutive 12-month period at no cost, rather than
the normal two cleanings.

offering this enhanced benefit for our expectant TDP
enrollees," says Dr. Gary Martin, TRICARE
Dental Care Branch Chief. "Any infection present
in the mother can pose serious risks for her unborn baby.
Therefore, it is extremely important to maintain good
oral hygiene habits during pregnancy."
