United Concordia's dental electronic services
(DES) department is dedicated to promoting and
supporting Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
and the use of our Web products and services. The DES
staff of eight researches and resolves problems to
enable the submission of claims through EDI and
Speed
eClaimSM (United Concordia's real-time Internet
claim product). They also support all of the users
of My Patients' Benefits, My Dental Benefits and
secure e-mail.
Currently, United Concordia receives an average of 34
percent of all claims electronically. This is between
15,000 and 16,000 electronic claims daily and it continues
to grow.
To ensure continual growth of EDI within the company,
DES represents United Concordia on several national
EDI organizations/committees, at dental trade
shows and at provider educational seminars.
