The TRICARE Dental Program (TDP) offers comprehensive
orthodontic services for family members (non-spouse) up
to, but not including, 21 years of age. Family members
who are enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited
college or university are eligible up to, but not
including, 23 years of age. In all cases, coverage
is effective until the end of the month in which the
member reaches the applicable age limit.
The orthodontic services covered under TDP are
comprehensive, however, some limitations apply.
For specifics on the TDP service limitations, as
well as TDP orthodontic services limitations, please
refer to the
TRICARE Dental Program Benefit Booklet.
You are required to obtain a
Non-Availability Referral Form (NARF)
for all orthodontic services received in the OCONUS service
area, and services must be performed by an orthodontist on
the Host Nation Provider Directory.*
This Directory provides
a list of dentists that have been verified by TMA as having
met certain Government quality criteria.
Our Host Nation Provider Directory
can help you find a Host Nation Provider in your location.
First, select the Specialty Option and then select Orthodontics.
You can also contact your TAO for a copy of this directory.
*In Canada, members may receive care from any orthodontist;
however, a
NARF is still required.
