When the nephew of Carol Kell, TDP Customer Service
was injured while on his second tour of duty in Iraq, the
department's Activity Team decided to get involved. PFC
Craig Bowes and his unit, Delta 28 First cavalry was attacked
when a truck filled with explosives drove into a building and
detonated upon impact. There were casualties and other injuries
to members of the unit as a result. Luckily, Craig was treated
in Germany and is now back with his unit on light duty. The
Activity Team coordinated a collection of snacks, phone cards
and DVDs to send to the unit as a show of support for their
sacrifices. Two boxes were shipped on April 17th to the unit in
Iraq along with a thank you card signed by all those employees
who contributed to the collection.
Carol says, "It is a pleasure to work for a company that is
so committed to the support of our military members. When Craig
was injured, the TDP Customer Service Department
immediately decided that they wanted to get involved. As we
learned more of what Craig and his unit endured, the donations
of comfort items filled two boxes. My nephew assures me that
it makes the stay in a foreign land so much more bearable to
have the support of individuals and companies like United
Concordia."
