United Concordia Hosts U.S. Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon
Employees recognized for a job well done, celebrate retention of largest voluntary dental benefits program
United Concordia Companies welcomed the United States Marine Corps Silent
Drill Platoon for a special presentation at the company's headquarters in
Harrisburg, Pa., on Thursday, June 8.
The 38-man rifle platoon was on site to demonstrate the appreciation to the
United Concordia employees who service the TRICARE Dental Program (TDP)
contract for active duty family members and National Guard and Reserve
sponsors and their families. The event celebrated United Concordia's
retention of the TDP for an unprecedented third, five-year contract period.
"The Silent Drill Platoon presentation was arranged to help express the
Department of Defense's gratitude to the hundreds of dedicated men and
women who administer the TRICARE Dental Program to over 1.8 million enrollees
worldwide and to provide United Concordia employees with an opportunity to
thank the military for the freedoms and protection we enjoy," said Dr. Lawrence
McKinley, United Concordia corporate vice president, TRICARE Dental Program.
Col Gary Martin and CDR Robert Mitton of the TRICARE Management Activity
were on hand as well as local veterans associations, police departments,
firefighters and community organizations.
