Get to Know TRICARE Dental Program (TDP) Enrollment and Billing

What is TDP enrollment and billing?

United Concordia's TDP Enrollment and Billing Department originated in 2001 and consists of 84 staff members responsible for handling various enrollment and billing functions for active duty family members and National Guard and Reserve sponsors and their families. The departmental functions include processing new enrollments, adding family members to existing enrollments, canceling coverage, processing premium payments, and issuing refunds for overpayments. Customer service representatives within the department also handle phone calls related to eligibility, enrollment and billing.

What are the responsibilities of TDP enrollment and billing representatives?

Staff members are available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST Monday through Friday to provide customer support, generate ID cards and troubleshoot members' problems. Each day, representatives research and respond to a high volume of written and/or telephonic inquiries related to enrollment and billing activities for the TDP. Additionally, representatives in this unit ensure that United Concordia provides timely and informative communications to sponsors and reservists, as well as innovative and effective enrollment and billing services and options, such as Internet-based enrollment/invoicing, automated credit card processing and automated bank account withdrawals.

During the first quarter of 2006, the department processed 60,000 enrollment requests and over 208,000 requests were processed during 2005. In addition, this section received nearly 400,000 telephone inquiries and 23,000 written and email inquires during 2005.

Our commitment to our customers

The Enrollment and Billing Department has consistently adapted to events that impact military members and their families. Of particular significance was the department's response to military activations as a result of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. "Our customer service representatives were sympathetic to the circumstances and provided exceptional service to our members during an extremely difficult period," says Dean Anderson, Manager, Enrollment and Billing. "Our staff immediately adapted and responded to legislative changes implemented to support our military members and their families after 9/11."

The TDP Enrollment and Billing team is committed to continuing its tradition of providing exceptional customer support to active duty family members and National Guard and Reserve members and their families.
