UCCI Supports 2006 Military Spouse Awards

United Concordia sponsored a table and attended the 2006 "Heroes at Home" Military Spouse Awards for the Hampton Roads, VA area. The entire event was sponsored by Military Newspapers of Virginia, and held at the Norfolk, VA Waterside Marriott Hotel on May 12, 2006.

This event, according to the sponsors, "allows the military and civilian community to honor the hardest working member of our Armed Forces – the Military Spouse."

The Spouse of the Year was chosen from nominees provided by military personnel, spouse support groups, friends and family. Nominations came from all over the United States, as well as places as distant as Afghanistan. Fifteen finalists, including this year's Spouse of the Year recipient, from the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Navy, and Marine Corps were recognized at this event.

United Concordia was honored to attend the 2006 Military Spouse Awards and salutes all military spouses in addition to military families, and service members.

Laura Baxter, Publisher, Military Newspapers of Virginia, congratulates the 2006 Military Spouse of the Year, Lorraine Richards. Mrs. Richards is the spouse of Engineman's Mate Chief James Richards, USN.
